Bel Air Planning Commission Delays Decision on Department Complex
Bel Air residents raised concerns about the potential development of a 249-unit mixed-use apartment complex surrounding the Harford Mall.
At a town hall meeting, local residents expressed fears that the complex would turn Bel Air into another Towson, referencing the congestion and lack of residential appeal. The Bel Air Planning Commission has decided to table a final decision until January 4.
Mall owner, CB&L Associates Properties, presented updated graphics of the potential development, which would include green spaces and a 2.8-acre public plaza. However, residents spoke out unanimously against the project, citing the strain on local schools and increased traffic.
