Harford County Public Schools: No Credible Threat Found Despite Email Warning
School administrators in Harford County are currently investigating threats made via email and social media. These threats are not specific to any particular school in the county or across the state, but authorities are taking them seriously.
Baltimore County Public Schools, Baltimore City Public Schools, and Anne Arundel County Public Schools have all released statements acknowledging the threats and reassuring parents and students of their safety. However, they have also stated that there is currently no credible threat.
Joppa-Magnolia Firefighters Trapped in Engine After Crash While Responding to Accident
Firefighters from the Joppa-Magnolia Volunteer Fire Company found themselves in a dangerous situation on Tuesday when their engine crashed while responding to another accident.
The incident occurred just before noon when the JMVFC received an alert about a motor vehicle collision on Pulaski Highway in Edgewood. As they rushed to the scene with sirens blaring and lights flashing, their fire engine collided with a civilian vehicle and a telephone pole on Hanson Road at Woodbridge Center Way.
The impact of the crash left the four firefighters trapped inside the engine until utility crews from BGE could safely turn off the electricity in the area affected by the fallen pole.
Luckily, only one civilian was injured in the accident and was transported to University of Maryland Upper Chesapeake Health in stable condition. The section of Hanson Road between Woodbridge Center Way and Lake Avenue was closed for the investigation by the Harford County Sheriff's Office.
Happy National Ice Cream Day!
On December 13th, National Ice Cream Day, Harford county residents won't be hearing the familiar tune of the ice cream truck passing through their neighborhoods. However, it's still a great reason to indulge in a pint or three of ice cream to share with friends and family.
To celebrate National Ice Cream Day, you can try new and unique flavors beyond the traditional chocolate, vanilla, and strawberry. Adventurous souls can seek out parlors that offer unconventional options like lemon meringue or even horseradish ice cream. Even if you don't end up liking it, at least you can say you gave it a try.
Another way to celebrate is by going old school and making your own ice cream at home. With simple and affordable devices, anyone can create their own flavors using eggs, milk, cream, sugar, and various flavorings. While it may take more time than a quick trip to the store, it's a fun and rewarding way to enjoy this beloved frozen treat.
