Ravens' Tylan Wallace seizes opportunity as punt returner with game-changing touchdown

Baltimore Ravens rookie Tylan Wallace made a significant impact in his first game returning punts as a pro. Wallace ran a punt back 76 yards for a touchdown in overtime, securing a 37-31 victory over the Los Angeles Rams and snapping their three-game winning streak. This marked only the fourth time in NFL history that a player scored a touchdown on a punt return in overtime. Wallace expressed his excitement about his game-changing play and called it a once-in-a-lifetime moment.
Wallace's remarkable punt return came after Devin Duvernay, the Ravens' primary return man, left the game with back problems. Wallace returned three punts throughout the game and made up for a crucial penalty he committed earlier in the game. With this victory, the Ravens took a half-game lead over the Miami Dolphins for the AFC's top seed.
Despite the rainy conditions in Baltimore, both quarterbacks, Lamar Jackson and Matthew Stafford, had strong performances. Jackson threw for 316 yards and three touchdowns, while Stafford threw for 294 yards and three touchdowns as well. Both offenses struggled in overtime, resulting in multiple three-and-outs before the decisive punt.
Injuries affected both teams, with Ravens' Kyle Hamilton leaving the game with a knee injury and Rams' Tyler Higbee, Rob Havenstein, Hunter Long, and Tutu Atwell also sustaining injuries throughout the game.
