Emergency Warning Sirens Tested Near Peach Bottom Clean Energy Center

A test of the emergency warning sirens near the Peach Bottom Clean Energy Center was completed this week. The warning system consists of 97 sirens within a 10-mile radius around Peach Bottom, operated by Constellation.

The officials reminded residents to be prepared for emergencies, providing instructions such as tuning in to local stations for emergency information, preparing for possible evacuation, keeping phone lines open, and staying indoors.

In case of an evacuation, residents are advised to go to local reception centers and plan for three days away from home. It is also important to keep an emergency kit with essential items and gather important documents in a safe place.

Weather Alert: Grab Your Raincoat and Buckle Up for a Wild Sunday of Rain and Wind!

Get ready for rain, wind, and stormy weather this Sunday! A powerful storm system is heading our way, and the worst impacts are expected to hit late Sunday afternoon through Sunday night. Be prepared for heavy rain, localized flooding in poor drainage areas, strong and gusty winds, and minor coastal flooding in vulnerable spots. There's even a chance of brief snowfall in central and western Maryland, which could lead to slippery driving conditions in northern and western counties.

Here's what to expect over the next few days in Harford County:

Saturday: Enjoy partly sunny skies with mild temperatures in the mid to upper 50s. It's the perfect day for outdoor activities!

Saturday Night: Clouds will roll in, accompanied by mist, drizzle, and fog. Expect overnight temperatures in the 40s.

Sunday: Brace yourself for a strong low-pressure system and a cold front, bringing increased rain chances, gusty winds, and potentially thunderstorms. Don't forget your rain gear if you're heading to the Ravens game, and make sure to secure any tents!

Sunday Night: Rain will intensify, and there's a possibility of thunder as the cold front passes through. We could see 2-3+ inches of rain, along with gusty winds up to 35 mph. Be cautious of slippery roads, especially in the higher elevations and further west.

Monday: The rain will taper off, but temperatures will drop behind the front. Expect breezy conditions and a chance of wet snow in the overnight hours. Accumulating snow will primarily affect higher elevations west of us.

Stay safe and prepared, Harford County!

Deadline Looms as Orioles and State Clash Over Lease Renewal

The lease at Camden Yards is set to expire at the end of the month, leaving Orioles fans concerned about the team's future.

While a non-binding agreement was reached in September to keep the team in Baltimore long term, time is running out to finalize the deal before the December 31 deadline.

The negotiations remain ongoing, but both parties feel the pressure to reach a resolution before the looming deadline.
