Aberdeen Proving Ground Reschedules Nighttime Testing

The Aberdeen Proving Ground has rescheduled its nighttime testing and training time frame due to concerns from surrounding communities.

The testing, which was originally scheduled from 6 p.m. to midnight on November 10, will now take place from 3 to 9 p.m. During the testing period, residents may hear noises and military weapons will be visible.

There may also be flashes of light visible off post from illumination devices. However, APG leadership assures residents that the testing is not hazardous and emphasizes that measures are taken to minimize the impact on surrounding communities.

Incredible Rescue Operation: Trapped Passenger Freed by Heroes

Emergency responders were called to a scene on Route 155 near the I-95 interchange where a vehicle had collided with a guardrail. 

The impact caused the guardrail to pierce through the car's front windshield on the passenger side and extend out the back of the SUV. With one person trapped inside, it took emergency responders 17 minutes to free the individual by removing the roof, two doors, and a 12-foot section of the guardrail.

The patient was then airlifted to Shock Trauma in stable condition. This successful rescue was made possible by the advanced rescue tools used by the responders.

Hotel Flipping Fraud Exposed: Five Indicted for Lying to Secure Millions in Loans

Five individuals have been indicted for their involvement in a fraud scheme aimed at defrauding financial institutions of over $35 million through falsifying documentation for Small Business Administration (SBA) loan applications for hotel purchases.

The indictment, which was announced on November 1, 2023, charges the group, including Rebecca Cohn (a/k/a Rebecca Marie Stanton) of Fallston, MD with bank fraud, making false statements to financial institutions, and money laundering.

This is the first time the financial crime kingpin statute has been charged in Maryland. The defendants allegedly conspired to obtain loan proceeds for the purchase and sale of hotels by providing false information during the loan application process.

They created shell companies and straw owners to hide the true identities of the buyers and sellers, while also diverting funds and engaging in fraudulent transactions. If convicted, the defendants face significant prison sentences with a maximum of 30 years.
