Harford County in Maryland is providing a sensory-friendly environment for children with differing abilities to visit Santa Claus this holiday season. The Harford County Office of Disability Services and Harford County Parks and Recreation are offering two opportunities for families to attend the free Sensory Santa Workshop.

The first session will take place on December 2 at the Churchville Recreation Center, and the second session will be held on December 9 at the Edgewood Senior Center. Families will be guided through Santa's workshop, have their picture taken with Santa, and be able to create holiday crafts to take home.

Registration for the workshops opened on November 6, and families are encouraged to register early as spots are limited. The workshops aim to provide an inclusive and enjoyable experience for all children, allowing them to share their Christmas wishes with Santa Claus.

Harford County government also offers various recreational programs for individuals with disabilities, as well as free local events, learning opportunities, community partnerships, and resource referrals.

Three Orioles' Named Silver Slugger Finalists

Orioles players Adley Rutschman, Anthony Santander, and Gunnar Henderson have been named finalists for the prestigious Silver Slugger award. The Silver Slugger is given to the best offensive player in each position. The winners will be announced on November 9 at 6 p.m. on MLB Network.

Adley Rutschman, who is also in contention for a Gold Glove, has received his second finalist nod of the award season. He had an impressive season with a .277 batting average, .435 slugging percentage, and 20 home runs. Salvador Perez of the Royals and Cal Raleigh of the Mariners are also vying for the award at catcher.

Anthony Santander is one of seven outfielders competing for the Silver Slugger award. The other outfield finalists include Randy Arozarena (Rays), Adolis García (Rangers), Aaron Judge (Yankees), Luis Robert Jr. (White Sox), Julio Rodríguez (Mariners), and Kyle Tucker (Astros). Santander had a solid season with a .257 batting average, .472 slugging percentage, and 28 home runs.

Gunnar Henderson is kicking off what could be a successful award season with his nomination for the Silver Slugger. After a slow start, the rookie finished the year with a .255 batting average, .489 slugging percentage, and 28 home runs. Henderson played both shortstop and third base throughout the season. He is nominated in the utility spot alongside Brandon Drury (Angels), Whit Merrifield (Blue Jays), and Isaac Paredes (Rays).

In addition to his Silver Slugger nomination, Henderson is also the favorite for the American League Rookie of the Year award, which will be announced on November 13.
