School Bus Crash in Harford County Leaves Multiple Students Injured

Multiple students were injured in a school bus crash in Edgewood, Maryland. Harford County's first responders, including volunteer firefighters from the Abingdon Fire Company and an HCDES EMS unit from the Abingdon Station, were called to the scene.

They found a school bus with multiple injured children, and 22 students were transported away from the crash site. Eighteen students were taken to the Upper Chesapeake Medical Center in Bel Air for further treatment. Fire officials stated that while some students had minor injuries, most were transported as a precaution.

By Wednesday evening, all of the students were either discharged from the medical center or awaiting discharge. Some students were released to a parent or guardian at the crash site, while others were taken to the hospital to wait for a parent or guardian.

The Upper Chesapeake Medical Center worked with firefighters and medics to create a reunification area inside the hospital.

Orioles Trio Named Finalists for Gold Glove Awards

The Baltimore Orioles have reason to celebrate as three of their players have been named finalists for the prestigious Gold Glove Awards. These awards recognize the best defensive player at each position in each league.

Adley Rutschman, Ryan Mountcastle, and Austin Hays have all received nominations for the first time in their careers. The winners of the Gold Glove Awards will be announced on November 5th at 7:30 p.m. ET on ESPN.

Rutschman, now in his second major league season, is nominated for the catcher award alongside Jonah Heim of the Texas Rangers and Alejandro Kirk of the Toronto Blue Jays. Rutschman and Heim were both selected as All-Stars this season, making their nominations even more impressive.

Despite missing a month of play due to vertigo and having limited playing time, Mountcastle has still been recognized as a finalist at first base. He will be competing against Anthony Rizzo of the New York Yankees and Nathaniel Lowe of the Texas Rangers for the award.

Austin Hays has had an exceptional year, earning a spot as a first-time All-Star and now being named a Gold Glove finalist. Alongside Hays, Steven Kwan of the Cleveland Guardians and Daulton Varsho of the Toronto Blue Jays have also received nominations.

Unfortunately, Ramón Urías, who won the Orioles' first Gold Glove award in seven years in 2022, did not make the cut as a finalist this time.
