Suspicious Vehicle Prompts Investigation and Traffic Delays at Airport
A man has been taken into custody following a large police response at BWI Marshall Airport on Wednesday.
Authorities have not disclosed the exact cause of the incident, but precautionary measures were taken based on statements made by the individual involved. The investigation centered around a suspicious vehicle near the terminal, causing traffic to be blocked for about an hour. Delays and road closures were experienced as a result.
As restrictions were slowly lifted, some travelers faced difficulties due to transportation disruptions. The investigation also prompted a suspension of light rail service. Eventually, all roadways reopened and the airport announced that there were no more restrictions, although residual traffic was expected.
New Zoning Code Amends Rules for Warehouse Projects in Harford County
Harford County Council Tightens Rules for Warehouse Developments.
The Harford County Council recently passed legislation that amends the county zoning code in order to strengthen regulations surrounding warehouse developments. After concerns were expressed by residents about the plans for large warehouses in Perryman, the council voted five to two in favor of the bill.
County Executive Bob Cassilly had previously implemented a moratorium on new warehouse developments to allow for a review of zoning regulations. The newly amended zoning code includes definitions for "distribution and local delivery center," "freight terminal," and "warehousing," as well as a limitation on the size of warehouses to 250,000 square feet.
Ex-Felon Caught with Stolen Guns and Marijuana Receives Lengthy Sentence
A 23-year-old man from Baltimore, Maryland, named Tavion Thomas has been sentenced to 33 months in federal prison for being a felon in possession of a firearm and ammunition.
The sentence was handed down by U.S. District Judge George L. Russell, III. Thomas was found to be in possession of two loaded 9mm pistols, along with a significant amount of marijuana. He also had a previous felony conviction which prohibited him from possessing firearms and ammunition.
The investigation revealed that the 9mm pistols Thomas possessed were reported stolen from Bel Air, Maryland and from Atlanta, Georgia. The case is part of Project Safe Neighborhoods, a program aimed at reducing violent crime and gun violence in communities.

Travel Strategies Experimented for NFL Games in London
NFL teams that play in London are adjusting their travel plans in hopes of improving performance on game day. The Baltimore Ravens, who were blown out in their last London game after arriving late, decided to arrive nearly a week early this time.
The Ravens left for London on Monday and are confident that the extra time to adjust and prepare will benefit them in their upcoming game against the Tennessee Titans. Other teams, like the Buffalo Bills, have also raised concerns about arriving late and lacking energy.
There is no scientific evidence to support whether arriving early or late is more beneficial, but teams are experimenting with different travel strategies to find what works best for them.
